Biography

I was born at Thessaloniki in 1986.  I attended elementary school in the European school of Brussels and completed my basic education at Volos in 2003.

I graduated from the Psychology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008 after having attended for one year the Psychology course of the 3rd year at the University of Geneva through the ERASMUS programme in 2006 – 2007.

My undergraduate training took place in the Centre of Dyslexia and Learning Difficulties, in the 3rd University Psychiatric Clinic of the AHEPA hospital.  My thesis concerned the study of roles of psychotherapeutic interventions in bullying.

At the same time, I participated as a volunteer for provision of counselling support to children and teenagers with special needs and to their families at the Youth Counselling Centre of the Secondary Education of Eastern Thessaloniki.

In 2008 – 2010 I attended the postgraduate programme of Counselling Psychology (MSc Counselling Psychology) at the Keele University, UK.

My training took place at  The Dove Service (Hanley, Staffordshire, UK) where I offered individual counselling support to adults with grief problems.

Then, at the Psychogeriatric Clinic (3rd University Psychiatric Clinic of the AHEPA Hospital, Thessaloniki) for the provision of counselling support to adults with psychological disorders

Finally, at The Place2Be (Edinburgh, UK) for the provision of counselling support and play therapy with individual and group sessions to children of  elementary school of the area.

Next, I attended the postgraduate programme of Cognitive – Behavioural Psychotherapy (MSc Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) at the London Metropolitan University, UK, which I finished in 2012 with my training at the North Lambeth Talking Therapy Service (NLTTS) of London for the provision of counselling support and implementation of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy  in adults.

Then, I worked (2012 – 2014) at the KCA New Thoughts and the Bromley Working for Wellbeing (IAPT) of London as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist for the evaluation of clients and implementation of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy with individual and group sessions in accordance with the English codes of conduct of IAPT and NICE.

KNOWLEDGE & ACTIVITIES:

  • I participate in Greek and international conferences with papers, oral presentations and posters.
  • I coordinate experiential seminars and workshops for the promotion of mental health.
  • I have been trained at the programme of Attachment Parenting International as “Attached at the Heart Parent” trainer.
  • I speak English and French fluently.

I AM MEMBER OF:

  • The Association of Greek Psychologists (SEPS).
  • The British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and holder of the European Certificate in Psychology (EUROPSY).

Today, I am a psychologist – psychotherapist in private practice since 2014 at my office at Volos (Ref. No of License to practice 37777/08, Prefecture of Magnesia (2008)).  At the same time, I offer my services as a psychologist – psychotherapist at the Thessalian Society of Mental Health, Care and Rehabilitation (THEPSYPA) established in Larissa.
